Miguel Picardo has significant international executive experience in the energy sector, where he has led energy projects applied to heavy industry across Europe and Latin America, as well as in consulting.
He currently holds the position of Head of Business Development at Ackermann Spain, as well as Head of Energy & Utilities for the Group.
Before joining Ackermann as Managing Partner, Miguel was Senior Client Partner, Country Manager for Chile and Head of Energy Latin America at Korn Ferry.
Over the course of his more than 25-year professional career, he has worked for some of the leading multinational companies in the energy sector, including Vestas, the world’s leading wind turbine manufacturer. There, he held several positions, including Managing Director for Spain, Portugal and Brazil, and VP for Latin America. He was also a member of the Management Committee for the EMEA, ME and LATAM cluster.
At British Petroleum, he served as Senior Director in the Oil & Gas department for the LNG business applied to heavy industry in Spain. He was also part of pan-European teams involved in the development of projects in the Middle East and Africa.
Earlier in his career, he worked at Mobil Oil Spain and Portugal in the Base Oils and Lubricants business, where he held various positions of responsibility.
Miguel holds a Higher Technical Engineering Degree in Mining from the Polytechnic University of Madrid, specialising in Energy and Fuels, and an Executive Master’s degree from IMD in Lausanne, Switzerland.
