Miguel Picardo has outstanding international leadership experience in the energy sector, where he has led energy projects applied to heavy industry in Europe and Latin America, as well as in consulting.
Before joining Ackermann as Managing Partner, Miguel worked at Korn Ferry as Senior Client Partner, Country Manager for Chile, and Head of Energy for Latin America.
Throughout his more than 25-year professional career, he has worked for some of the leading multinational companies in the energy sector, such as Vestas, the world’s leading wind turbine manufacturer, where he held various positions, including General Manager for Spain, Portugal, and Brazil, and VP for Latin America. He was also part of the Management Committee for the EMEA, ME, and LATAM cluster. He also worked at British Petroleum as Senior Director in the Oil & Gas Department for the LNG business applied to heavy industry in Spain and participated in pan-European teams with projects in the Middle East and Africa. Prior to that, he worked at Mobil Oil in Spain and Portugal in the Base Oils and Lubricants business, holding different positions.
Miguel holds a degree in Mining Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid (specializing in Energy and Fuels) and an Executive Master’s degree from IMD in Lausanne, Switzerland.
